Welcome to the Etsy shop of the web sensation that is Afraid of Monsters! At this shop you can find unique, bizarre, and even useful items to delight both the young and the young at heart.

Afraid of Monsters is the brainchild of Alissa and Jason Cox, a pair of Maryland artists with a taste for the deliciously adorable and the slightly macabre.

Alissa has spent a lifetime learning the trade of various artistic fields. From stained glass to costuming, jewelry craft to knitting, there is little she has not tried and even less she hasn't loved. She spends most of her time thinking up ideas her artist mother would be proud of, as well as wondering how to help ease the pain of arthritis that plagues both Alissa and her mother.. as well as countless other people in the world who suffer this affliction.

Jason studied art and art education at America's oldest art college, The Maryland Institute College of Art. Since leaving, he has worked as a puppeteer, illustrator, and art educator. A flair for theatrics and an offbeat sense of humor has served him well in his adventures into the world of art.
