Welcome to my store, Ophelia Felt!

My name is Melissa Hamblin and I handcraft these items out of my apartment in an area of Philadelphia, PA called Chestnut Hill.

The process I typically use is referred to as "wet felting". First I start with un-spun wool known as roving and layer it in the pattern I choose, then I agitate the wool with hot water and soap. The wool will then shrink and I then block the item to the shape that I want.
