TruKenCrafts's Profile

Bio

Trudy and Ken (that's where the name came from: TruKenCrafts)-

For many years, we've worked together to make craft items for sale at local craft fairs.
We make quilts and lots of sewn craft items, some fun things, some nice to have, many of which we make sure we have for ourselves, too.

We got into soapmaking because of the need to find a nice soap that didn't dry the skin. So, after making some up for ourselves, we decided that we'd share our treasure with others, and so that's why we're selling soap in Etsy.

We do hope you like all our products as much as we enjoy making them for you.
Check back often as we will continue to place new items in our shop frequently.
Thanks for looking!!

TRUDY AND KEN RECOMMENDATIONS
Whether or not you purchase a quilt from TruKenCrafts, we'd like to share our recommendations for cleaning and storing handmade quilts, based on our experience and those guidelines from our local guild and the American Quilters Society

CLEANING:
Your quilt should last for years with an occasional shaking and airing outside – a light vacuuming will also help keep it fresh.

If your quilt ever needs cleaning, we recommend taking it to the dry-cleaners. In a pinch (for those emergency spills), your quilt can usually be laundered on a delicate cycle (cold water) with mild soap. If you must put it in the dryer, remove it while it’s still damp and place on a flat surface or line (not in sunlight) until it’s completely dry.

STORAGE:
The best way to store your quilt when not in use is to place it in a pillowcase, and place it where the fabrics can breathe. Remember, Cotton is a natural fiber, so taking it out occasionally, shaking it and refolding will keep it “like new” for years to come!

REMEMBER:
NEVER store your quilt in a plastic bag.
NEVER store your quilt in tissue paper (unless it’s acid free)
NEVER store your quilt on an unpainted wood surface.
NEVER subject your quilt to long term direct sunlight

Following these instructions will help maintain the heirloom quality of your handmade quilt!
