I have learned to crochet, bookbind, beading, wire jewelry all on my own, because I love to give--and receive! ;)--handmade gifts. But my real inclination towards crafts started since I was little because of my grandma, my aunt, and my mom. My mom and aunt both know how to paint really well. My grandma owned a decoration and craft store back in the day, so she knows how to paint, sew, knit, crochet and more. She taught me how to do embroidery and crochet when I was little, but it wasn't until later in life when I mastered crochet on my own, because she lives so far away and couldn't mentor me!

I've never been too good at painting but I still like making designs, so I do all of my graphic designs with computer software. I design banners and logos for websites and blogs and custom t-shirts as well.

***Why "Caritas"?***

"Caritas" means "Love" in Latin or, more specifically, "charity". The love that is meant here is not the romantic love that usually comes to mind or charity in monetary terms. Rather, "caritas" is the theological virtue of love explained by St. Paul in his first letter to the Corinthians (ch. 13) along with faith and hope. I decided to name my store "caritas" because I strongly believe that it is through small acts of love that we can transform the world we currently live in. In the case of this shop, it is through small crafts that can make someone else smile with a bracelet or a t-shirt or make someone think deeply about their lives and surroundings when writing on a journal that we can humbly build a "civilization of love."

***SHOP BANNER***

The banner is meant to reflect how God's love (caritas) is implanted in our hearts (hence the green leaf) when he creates us. The fire that is meant to be the "i" is the fire of love burning deep inside of us once we have recognized the love of God in our hearts and all around us.

***SHIPPING OPTIONS***

I ship all my items through First Class US Mail. If you need your item sooner, please specify so when checking out and I can upgrade to either Priority or Express Mail, depending on your needs. I will then send you a revised invoice.

***DISTRIBUTION OF VIDEOS***

You may use the videos I sell here as you wish: in your parishes, church groups, conferences, etc. My intention behind selling the videos is not to make a profit, but rather to cover for blank DVDs and shipping. My hope is to see that these videos are distributed and shared freely with others.

***INFO ON T-SHIRTS***

Currently, I live in a small apartment with VERY limited space, so I can't do my own t-shirt screen printing no matter how much I would love to do so. So I send my original designs to a small printing store close to my apartment. The t-shirts are NOT done by either CafePress or CustomInk.
