I'm Karen and I've been sewing, knitting, and crocheting for about 10 years--during the day I'm a government drone but I try to do something creative every day.

I love fabric and patterns, and patchwork lets me pack as many pieces as I can into one item. My favorite part is the process of spreading out all the different pieces on the floor around me and gathering them into groups that work together. I also love shopping for fabric and can always find something to buy.

In my pillows and bags, I try to combine contemporary fabric and color combinations in traditional patchwork patterns. I still like the right angles of old fashioned patterns, but a mix of textures and colors keeps them fresh, I think.
