I came to pottery over 12 years ago when I took a community center course and failed miserably at the most basic skills. I dropped the idea, but several years later felt moved to give it one more try. This time I found a good teaching studio, bought my own wheel and 100 pounds of clay and struggled with the process until (at last!) one day it clicked and I could make the clay cooperate with me (and I with it).
That was several years ago, and I haven't looked back since. I count myself lucky to be able to pursue potting full-time now.
I have been blessed in the endeavor and in the way people receive my work. It is always gratifying and humbling when someone chooses one of my pieces to make their own. I hope my work can enhance their lives and help to make the daily grind a little less grinding.
About the Work:
I use both stoneware and porcelain and fire at cones 6 to 7 (mid-range) in oxidation. Most of my glazes are made here in the studio and all are food-safe. My pottery can be used in the dishwasher, microwave and oven with proper precautions; (never subject ceramic ware to sudden temperature changes (refrigerator to oven, etc.) as it could crack from thermal shock).
Each piece is made individually entirely by hand, and so no two pieces will ever be "exactly" alike. I make every effort to match pieces in a set as closely as possible, but the variations in form and finish are actually what give the work charm and value as "handmade" art.
Refund Policy:
All work is carefully wrapped and packed, however breakage does occur on rare occasions. Items that are received broken will be replaced ASAP. It is the buyer's responsibility to notify me immediately if any part of their order has been damaged.
No refunds are given for breakage during everyday usage, but I will gladly give a discount if you would like to replace a lost piece. Convo me for details.
It is important to me that my customers be happy with my work. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
