About Me

I learned to draw when I was young. My dad would take me and my two brothers to the Harvard Museum of Natural History to sketch the animals in the display cases. Drawing from life was and is a huge part of keeping my skills honed. I went on to college, learned the fundamentals of art while also learning to paint, and then studied to achieve a master's degree in art focusing on illustration. Presently, I am a senior designer at a design firm in Boston working on animation and interactive design. If you would like to see new art and illustration, follow my flickr photostream:

About Bristles & Nibs

Because I'm such an avid reader, my work is often inspired by books, short stories, and even just words and phrases. Sometimes an image will become stuck in my head--i.e. a little boy leading a yeti on a leash--and I love it when I can translate the image in my head into a piece of art with very little modification.

(By the way, the name Bristles and Nibs is derived from my two major modes of expression: painting and drawing.)
