THE STORY OF AMELIA’S SOAP CO.
Janet Amelia’s mother, the original “Amelia,” was profoundly hearing impaired – so wonderful aromas were of special importance in their home. “Cleanliness is next to godliness” was a significant focus there as well. Janet’s soap-making combines these two above concepts with other things she loves: cooking, biology, and chemistry.

“After writing that original article and looking over my life as a dental hygienist, tidy homemaker, and now a producer of soaps, it became clear I am a ..... clean freak!! ... May my obsession benefit you … as you luxuriate in the enriching qualities of soap handmade of the finest ingredients. The difference is truly tangible.”


The above article was written for a shop which sells my soap here on Saint Simons Island – along with two other gift shops. If you should need references, I will be happy to provide them for you!

I recently had the opportunity to meet another Etsian soapmaker, Heidi of HeidisHandmades!! She loves to make soap also and specializes in mostly melt and pour. Bordeaux – warm, ripe, complex (Is this wine or soap?!)
Bella Blossom - florals; feminine, medium to low tones
Fleur & Lavender Fusion - high florals; rich; feminine
Island Mist – mixed high notes, moist, cool
Refreshment - with citrus and spearmint; invigorating
Vanilla Lavender – warm, low, earthy
