SquawPonyArt's Profile
Bio
I began working in graphic art and logo design in college and began seriously drawing in pen & ink at that time. I worked in magazine publishing as a typesetter and layout artist for Travelhost Magazine and D-FW Home & Garden magazine. I then became a freelance logo designer.
Illustration was always my passion and while staying home to raise my children, I began illustrating and working in different mediums including acrylic, fiber and oils. Two of my black and white stippled pieces were published in two different months in The Chronicle of the Horse magazine in the 1990s.
I am self-taught in fine arts and am an emerging portrait artist in the Dallas, Texas area. I have had several clients, mostly in the Dallas Police Department's Mounted Unit as horses are one of my favorite subjects.
Additionally, I have worked for the The Dallas Police Department's Central Patrol Division, DPD's Northwest Division, the Dallas Police Adademy and the Irving Police Department painting fallen officers for their Memorial Walls.
I sold many of my pieces on eBay and other online formats from Australia to Europe. I am an internationally collected and an award-winning juried artist.
Born in Texas, I was raised in Dallas, the Mojave Desert of California and the Australian outback town of Alice Springs. I now live and work as a full-time artist in Plano, Texas.
I am single, a mother of two grown children and proud grandmother of a beautiful grandson.
Being a lover of horses, I spend as much time as possible around my favorite subject.
After spending so many years raising my family, I have recently returned to college am currently completing my Bachelor in Fine Arts while I work full-time in portrait art.
I am a divorced single former housewife and I am supporting myself with my art. I do not do "layaway" or payment plans. Please help support living artist.
