Bio

One of the greatest gifts my Grandma Smith ever gave me was the skill of crochet when I was eight. Even now, I can easily conjure of the sight of her arthritic hands wielding a hook and thread. For years I merely made giant granny squares because I couldn't read a pattern. Gram could look at something and sew it or crochet it without a pattern; therefore she never used a pattern to teach me! After decades of granny squares and unfinished mutant projects, I finally got serious, followed a few patterns and eventually started making my own creations. Most of these designs are original and the rest are altered versions of a pattern or combined versions of patterns. I often learn a stitch or technique from one pattern and apply it to another idea. I can't hook fast enough to get my ideas out. As my Grandpa Robertson said when he received his giant granny square afghan: “Idle hands do the devil’s work”. These hands cannot stand to be idle! This is my passion, my coping skill and my sedative! I'm just making stuff for people's lives. I hope you like them enough to use them or give them to people you love.
