I began crocheting preemie sized items some months ago in an effort to use up smaller leftover batches of yarn. I found that I enjoyed making these smaller items and that there really is a market for items for the smallest bundles of joy. Well, at least for items that actually FIT :)

Most commercially made preemie items don't actually fit the newborn preemie. They're far too wide, primarily. My hope is to create items that will be more reasonable in terms of actually fitting and looking nice at the very time they're worn, which would be very early in the life of a preemie!

Children grow so quickly, but I believe every baby, no matter how small, should have a beautiful item to wear right from the start.

If you've got a special request, I do custom work as well. What have you been looking for in preemie-wear? What have you found commercially, and where does it fall short of your expectations and needs? I would love to hear from parents of preemies; if you have ideas, suggestions or experiences to share regarding your difficulties finding appropriately nice things for your preemie. About Me:
I have always been a creative individual. I began sewing at age 9, using a toy machine (and cranking it by hand when the batteries ran out) and scraps from outgrown clothing. By age 15 I was sewing clothing for myself.

I have sewed most things you could imagine: wedding gowns, quilted wall hangings, applique, children's clothing and crafts.

I took up crochet about 18 years ago using a borrowed library book to learn from. Since then, I've become accomplished enough to create my own patterns, giving each of my creations its own distinct look.

Everything I make is custom, and many items are one-of-a-kind. You can be sure that your heirloom items have been planned, made and treated with tender loving care right from the start.
