I have the best job in the world! Make my wolf dogs happy! Oh, & take pictures of them of course… I never had it so good!
My hope is that these wolf dog images will help to dispel some of the negative myths, & promote something positive for these amazing animals. For some of us it is the only glimpse we will ever get, of the treasured, disappearing, wolf.
Wolf dogs are in a misunderstood limbo between wild animal & household pet, not fitting in anywhere & difficult to adopt out. Many of them are put to sleep as soon as they turn up at local animal shelters, as well as many dogs that have very little or no wolf in them at all, are put down simply because they have a similar likeness, or look “wolfey”.
There are plenty of anti-wolf groups out there exploiting any negative & extreme information they can find.
Even the old term “hybrid” is a good indication of where we have placed these animals in our social consciousness. Hybrid means a cross of two different species, like a dog & a cat. A true "Freak of Nature". However, dogs were reclassified as a subspecies of wolf (Canis lupus familiarus) 15 years ago. Maybe wolf dogs are not a "freak of nature" after all.
In the past we have used wolves as a symbol of evil & using myths as scare tactics like, the famous werewolf, the guards of Dracula’s castle, eating our cute little pigs, helpless grandmothers & little red riding hood children. Who are they really? Educate yourself on one positive thing about a wolf today & pass it on to someone else. Rent a wolf movie (No, not a werewolf movie!). Spend 10 seconds & Google “wolf dog education” & see what happens.

ten thousands are devoured by men”
