VeggieArtGirl's Profile

Bio

My first creative job was working in the produce department of a local supermarket, where I would design large, colorful chalk drawings of tomatoes and eggplants, advertising the weekly specials in the store. This began the nickname “VeggieArtGirl,” and was one of the gigs that helped me afford college in New Hampshire, where I earned a BA in Art. Since then I have been traveling about, and seemed to have found a niche in something that makes me happy—painting colorful, swirly designs and sayings on salvaged wood, making greeting cards, and painting large, vibrant murals in homes and businesses. I try my very hardest to keep everything as eco-friendly as possible, reusing materials, scraps and salvaged items, as well as all water-based paints and recycled papers/fibers. And, when I am stumped for some inspiration, admittedly, I will just start painting vegetables—they're so pretty and shiny and make me happy!

Currently I live between Plymouth, NH & Asheville, NC. In the summer of 2009, I opened my very own earth-friendly boutique. Check it out at www.veggieartgirlboutique.com for more info! Peace. :o)
