kalital's Profile

Bio

I am influenced by the aesthetics of folk artists from Latin American and the African diaspora and incorporate their idioms into my work, entwining them with elements drawn from European art. I create pieces for private collectors and have made sacred art for ceremonial use in SanterĂa, an African diaspora religion. Since relocating to Berlin in 2005, I've focused on working in a secular environment, while remaining rooted in my sense of spirituality and particular cosmology.
