Starshaped Press is a design and letterpress studio located in Chicago's Ravenswood neighborhood. Letterpress is a relief printing process in which inked type or images are pressed onto a sheet of paper, leaving an impression much like a stamp. The inherent charm of this method lies in the imperfections and hand-printed nature of each piece.
At Starshaped Press, we custom design stationery and print all projects on antique presses using metal and wood typefaces, most of which are 50 to 100 years old. Why use hand-set type as opposed to computer-generated type? Because it creates a nostalgic feel that personalizes your project, making it as unique as you are.
