My name is Maria João, I was born and raised in Lisbon, where I still live. I hold a degree in Architecture and have been working in my own office for the last 20 years.
A few years ago I decided to get a hobby and from the first necklace I made, in early 2004, I realized that there was something about making beaded jewellery that kept a smile on my face.

I became interested in glass beads and began to read about their history and contemporary use in modern jewellery. That brought me to lampwork beads and the large community of artists making them. As you may know, lampwork beads are made, individually, by artists all over the world, and each piece is absolutely original and they always fascinate me with their infinite combination of colours, shapes, transparencies and opacities and a large variety of designs that lead us from figurative to complete abstract landscapes.

Nowadays, I design and create one of a kind jewellery using a combination of beautiful lampwork and other glass beads, seed beads, Swarovski crystals and semi-precious stones.
Sterling Silver and Karen Hill Tribe Silver findings and beads are present in most of my jewellery, but sometimes I use other types of metal beads and findings, such as plated, copper, pewter or similar. If that is the case, it will always be stated in the product description.
