Bio

I am the owner of earthboar jewelry and am from Davie County North Carolina. I have lived in the Triangle area since 1981. Like many things in life, my entry into the jewelry business was by happenstance. I became great friends with another local artist, Jodi Connelly (formerly of ArtFarm Coop) when taking a Spanish class in Cary. She introduced me to jewelry making one day in 2004 and I’ve never looked back. I love unique jewelry and the hobby seemed a perfect stress reliever from my other love, applied research.

Surprisingly, it turned out I had an eye for design and color and quickly began getting requests for pieces from friends and family. What began as a hobby blossomed into a small business which I registered in Wake County around 2005. The talent resident in the Triangle area provides many opportunities for learning new skills and techniques and making great friends.

I have always felt a deep connection to nature and its beauty. My jewelry creations fulfill my desire to touch products of nature and work them together into unique pieces. My favorite materials are rocks, gems and minerals which I love to combine with a bit of crystal to bring the sunlight into the piece. The use of metal and texturing, especially copper, brings an earthy sheen and rock like texture to the pieces. My sincere hope is that my customers find a piece that speaks to them and provides enjoyment for years to come.

Why earthboar? The name of the business comes from a combination of Chinese and Western Zodiac personality profiles. earthboars are purported to be diligent and hard working creatures, extremely trustworthy and have a wide circle of friends with whom they love to share food and wine…………..turns out they also love to share their baubles J
