AVENUEHANDMADE.etsy.com is my shop where I sell jewelry and notecards and the occasional crocheted thing.

My name is Avery, and I am a writer, editor, wife, craft blog addict and thrift store junkie, among other things. In my thrift store and flea market forays I often stumble upon fabulous vintage items that I just cannot pass up, but don't really need...or I buy sweet vintage threads for my husband that he doesn't really dig (he's really picky about clothes!)...or I buy a piece of jewelry for the sole purpose of dissembling it and creating something new out of pieces of it--but then I end up with components leftover that don't fit into my project.

So there you have it, the reason this shop exists: This is where I find new, loving homes for all those "fabulous" vintage items I could not leave to languish unloved on a dusty thrift store shelf, or those leftover vintage beads, or just surplus supplies from my jewelry-making (I may have a slight tendency to over-buy at times). I hope you find something you can't live without!

Once they are in my possession, all items are stored in my smoke-free home (I can't really vouch for their previous lives). I have 3 hermit crabs & a betta fish, but no furry friends. All vintage clothing items have been laundered.

As you probably know, vintage sizing can vastly differ from modern sizing. I do my best to measure clothing as well as give you relative sizing. I base the "Fits Like" estimates on my own measurements: I'm a 5'3" female, 120 lbs. I usually wear a small in tops and 5/6 in pants. So if a sweater is a bit loose on me, I say it "fits like a (women's) medium." If you want more specific measurements, just ask. I'm happy to do anything to increase your purchasing peace of mind. I'm hoping to convince my husband to model some of the men's clothing for me soon, so if you're wary of buying a men's item when you've only seen it modeled by a petite girl, stay tuned. That said, here is my return policy:

We all know Internet shopping can sometimes be a bit dicey. I am happy to accept returns ON VINTAGE ITEMS ONLY (not destash supplies) within 2 weeks if you are not completely thrilled with your purchase. (Vintage clothing may NOT be returned simply because it doesn't fit. Like I said, I'll answer any questions and help you make an educated decision about sizing.) Buyer is responsible for all return shipping costs and will receive a refund of the original cost, less shipping, upon the item's safe return. PLEASE do contact me before leaving negative or neutral feedback. I am committed to your satisfaction. I'll do my best to make us both happy!

DOMESTIC:
I ship USPS First Class with Delivery Confirmation & do my best to get your item(s) on their way to you within 2 business days of payment clearing. Insurance is available; just convo me for an updated invoice before you pay. Insurance is FREE for orders over $50!

INTERNATIONAL:
International orders are shipped Airmail. I ship internationally once a week, as it requires a trip to the post office. If you need your package rushed, please let me know and I'll see what I can do. Don't see your country listed? Just send me a conversation & let me know your post code so I can calculate the shipping for you! Customs can sometimes be a hassle, and unfortunately all customs fees must be the responsibility of the buyer. I always claim the actual value of the merchandise.
