Bio

madebyhank is madebyhank because my last name is henry and i am far too tough to be a katie.

i grew up in a town with a gas station, a hardware store, a little chocolate shop that my mom owned, and not much else. but somehow i did not touch a sewing machine until about 5 years ago.

it was definitely love at first sight.
i just started sewing one day and have not stopped since. i am self-taught, so there were some bumps along the way, and i probably do some things a bit differently than most, but i would like to think that is what makes each thing i create special.

i enjoy sewing and collecting jars and buttons and spools of thread and all things fabric. i also enjoy most dance movies (my dog's name is frances houseman-- baby's real name in dirty dancing!). i love spring and fall and cucumber sandwiches and sipping bourbon. baking makes me very happy, especially when it involves cinnamon. i used to spend a good deal of time playing backgammon. woodland creatures and old photographs make me smile.
