Bio

Nomad Clayworks is the studio of Ian and Phuong. Ian was born in Corvallis, Oregon and has lived in the Pacific northwest for most of his life. In 2007 he developed a clay sculpting process allowing the flexibility in imagery and narrative that is similarly found in painting. In 2008 he developed his sculptural aquariums which combined his love of art with his love of technical innovation.

Phuong was born in Saigon, Vietnam and has lived most of her life in America's northwest. In 2007 she developed a series of abstracted monolithic sculptural teapots which she has expanded in 2008 to include organic forms.

Phuong's teapots have been collected by individuals throughout the US with three pieces residing in the Sparta Teapot Museum.

Ian's series of ceramic landscapes and portraits have been collected and shown in galleries throughout the northwest.
