I've always been a dog-lover. My dogs however, were usually short-haired and I didn't have much fur or hair to play with. I'm an early-retired hairstylist so I was so thrilled when I got my first chinese crested dog, Aurora Dior. She was born deaf and has been an inspiration to me. She's a certified therapy dog and spreads a lot of joy wherever she goes, and she always looks FABULOUS doing it!

Aurora has recently inspired me to design a line of doggie hair accessories that combine my hairdressing skills, love of dogs and my creativity. I found that there was a serious lack of "cool/hip/rockin'" barrettes for dogs. I'm also a musician (bass player) in a rock/industrial band, and I wanted my dog's accessories to reflect the lifestyle that I live and the styles I enjoy, from punk to rockabilly to goth... Thus, Hair of the Dog Detroit was born!

I highly value my customers and want you (and your pet) to be happy with your purchase.
I offer a 30 day replacement guarantee. If your bow, barrette or accessory breaks,
comes unhinged, untied, unglued, or otherwise is unwearable due to a design flaw, I'm happy to replace it. In the case of limited edition pieces, I will try to repair your piece or replace it with something of similar value if it can't be repaired. Apon receiving your item for repair, I will promptly ship it back to you repaired,or you will receive a replacement or an alternate,comparable item.
I will cover the shipping charge.
If you receive your item and it was heavily damaged in shipping, please contact me immediately to work out an exchange. I carefully pack my items to ship, but I do know some postal workers can be brutal in their handling. If your item is unusable/unwearable due to shipping damage, I'm happy to work something out with you.

However, if for some reason you are simply unhappy with your purchase,contact me at hairofthedogdetroit [!at] gmail.com within 5 days of receipt of the item and I can offer you an exchange or a credit towards a future purchase.
Returned items must be received within 15 days of contacting me and must be returned in new condition. I can't accept heavily used returned items. My policy is intended to insure you get what you see, and the quality is as expected. I strive for high quality and I stand by my work.
Any/all return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.

I'm sorry to say I can't offer to replace pieces that are damaged due to doggie antics.
If your dog chews, eats or otherwise destroys your accessory, I can't send another for free,
