Night Sky Elements with (Fiber-Optic) Stars, and Wild Floral Abstracts with (Fiber-Optic) Fireflies are designed and illuminated within the ancient medium of encaustic wax. Works are forged with steel & fire (blow torched), hand polished, and then embedded with fiber-optic-light!
Cool Fiber Optics are embedded, and illuminated with LED technology. Optic lights represent a multitude of colorful stars, as well as backyard fireflies (green optics); recalling warm childhood summer nights in New England. All works intend to deepen relaxation, intensify romance, increase the Home Theater/movie experience, and generally inspire peace, calm, and a dreamy celebration and wonder of the Night Sky from the comfort and safety inside your home.
My inspiration for Space Art comes directly from my younger thrill of watching the Apollo missions, and NASA's continuing space exploratory missions. I stand in awe at the incredible visible reach of our orbiting observatories: Spitzer, Chandra, and the Hubble Space Telescopes, to mention only three. They journey to the origins of creation by surveying the expanding universe, the infinity of stars, planets, and galaxies; colliding, dying, and being born billions of light-years away! We are discovering that the darkness of deep space is filled with the brilliance of light, color, and yes, life!
The beauty of the Night Sky is being greatly obscured by the modernity of atmospheric pollution, and ‘light-noise’ caused by unchecked urban development. I endeavor, in at least a small way to honor the beauty of the night sky.
All Night Sky Fiber Optic works are safe, and eco-friendly “green” because they produce no heat signature. All works are portable, so can be hung to any wall (or ceiling, if you’re so handy!) in your home theater room, bath/spa, kitchen, dinning, living room, foyer, bedroom, or office; you can “Bring the Night Sky inside!” Works are designed with either battery powered LED circuit (no wires showing), or an AC/DC plug in unit.
Night sky effects are created at a fraction of the cost of installing expensive fiber-optic networks, plus you get original one of a kind artwork! Commerical vendors do not create orginal artwork; and many just sell supplies, causing you fumble thru complex and questionable installations. No other regional handmade Artisan
(optic-light artist) combines the high technology of fiber-optic light with this ancient medium of encaustic wax. (Please let me know if this changes, I'd like to convo with them! ;)
The completion time for custom work varies, as each piece is hand “Made in Maine” by me; Michael Parent. Different dimensions and colors can be requested, but I try to offer a variety of works for individual color tastes.
My hope is that each Night Sky Fiber-Optic invites you to dream the depth of our expanding universe and its beautiful mysteries. I wish you inner peace; reflecting on your own destiny to shine your light in the short moments we all have here.

Please understand photography of encaustic wax, and fiber-optic endpoint light is tricky, but do in fact RADIATE LIKE TRUE STARS,after standing only a few feet away.
This is the reason I include the close-up shot of a star or firefly. Once the word gets out, and patron purchase one for their home, they'll celebrate the fact that they got an absolute deal... because they could'nt have gone anywhere else for a portable "Home Theater" effect.
