Anna Laura started during my winter break from teaching Year 9 Art/Multimedia in July 2006. I had wanted to start selling my bags and artwork for a number of years, but working full time and finding a suitable venue made this difficult.



I use screen-printing and applique on my bags, and each bag has been altered in some way. I treat my bags as individual artworks and enjoy the challenge of creating an idea then designing and making it.


My screen prints are hand cut paper stencils, which I print myself. Although I would love to try different techniques, this is currently keeping me busy and I am inspired by the way the paper can be cut into tiny shapes and still produce beautifully neat and crisp prints.


My lady badges have been featured in "I Made It Myself" in the Saturday Age and Frankie Magazine. Each one is handstitched and no two are ever exactly alike.


I completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2001 from the University of Ballarat. My majors were drawing, painting and public art and my minors were photography, printmaking and multimedia and communication. My work is held in various public and private collections and I was awarded the 2001 University of Ballarat Travel Award and travelled to South Africa and Scotland. I also lived in Belgium in 1998 as an AFS exchange student and attended the Secundair Kunstinstituut in Gent.


I am keen to work on collaborations. Please contact me if you are interested.


My other interests besides making things are watching television. Some of my favourite shows are Project Runway, Lost, Heroes, Arrested Development, Top Chef, 30 Rock, The Office (USA), The Chasers War On Everything and Spicks and Specks.

International buyers: Paypal is the only payment method available.

Australian buyers: I accept both paypal and direct deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer. I prefer direct deposit or EFT however it does take a few days for payment to clear. To calculate the amount of the item in Australian Dollars I use the website http://www.xe.com

Shipping

All items are shipped within 48 hours of payment received. If you need your item urgently, please contact me so we can work out a new shipping amount so you can get your item faster. In Australia there is the option of Express Post, however for international orders this generally can cost over $40AUD for even small items.

For international orders I use Australia Post Airmail. Items usually take between 7-10 days to arrive in North America.

I do not cover items that go missing in the post. If you require insurance for an item please contact me before purchasing for a quote.

Each item I post is checked over to make sure it is sent off in perfect condition and packed so it is safe inside the packaging. If you item has arrived damaged please contact me within 10 days of item arriving and I will issue you a refund.
