Hello there fellow Etsian!

I am Heidi, a 33 year old Canadian crafty chick. I am happiest when I am surrounded by my "stash" of assorted materials, madly sewing or painting or sculpting or cutting. I decided to open an etsy shop so that I could share some of the things that make me happy with others.
I love to make custom dolls. I started making these dolls in May of 2008, when a fellow crafter, Ghilie, shared her original Poppet pattern on a crafting forum that we are both a member of. I still use the basics of this pattern (though I do modify it to meet my needs). These dolls are being sold here with the express permission of the original pattern designer.
I take pride in customizing each Misfitz plush with a distinct personality and style. I have made dolls in the likeness of Manny Ramirez (former Boston Red Sox outfielder, now with LA Dodgers), Alice Cooper (veteran rock star), and even in the likeness of the buyers themselves!
Men really seem to love having their sports or music hero made into a doll. I don't ask questions... ;)
Misfitz owners range in age from 6 to 69 (and even impossible-to-please TEENS!).
