I have always had a fascination with creating items to be worn. It started out with my mom showing me how to sew skirts for my Barbies and grew from there.

The Creative Bit
I have been beading for about 14 years. I have explored many different aspects, including loomwork, and macrame. I believe that the combination of size and texture of the beads in a piece are just as elemental as the color. All the aspects need to come together to enhance one another. For most of my pieces I like to use natural elements and trade beads, but also have fun with some glass beads in earrings. All of my necklaces are strung on imitation sinew, which is incredibly strong, but leaves no poke-ey edges, like metal.
I have been knitting for the past 5 years and truly love it. I am mostly self taught through books. I love to try new techniques and work with them until I have mastered them. As with my jewelry, I believe the texture of an item is just as important as the color. I rarely use acrylic, and then only in blends. I prefer the way that natural fibers feel against the skin. Alpaca is my favorite fiber. The shaft of alpaca fiber is hollow, making it incredibley warm, but it is not itchy like wool.

The Personal Bit
I am 26 years old and have been married to my wonderful, eccentric and artistic husband for nine years. Instead of having children we have four fantastic dogs. There is Riley(9 yrs-jack russel), Mabel (3 yrs-pocket beagle), Nikki (2 yrs-anyone's guess) and the baby, Gunther (1.5 yrs-german wirehaired pointing griffin). We all love each other very much and spoil each other rotten.
In my free, non-creating time I love to bake and play pool with my husband on the table that he just finished renovating.
After spending 6 years in banking and office settings, I decided that I needed a change and now work as a custom embroiderer in a small, privately owned shop. It has been a very welcome change and I really enjoy how I spend my day now.
It provides me with lots of inspiration about color combinations and is inspring me to revisit my early sewing experience and start creating garments of my own.
