Bio

KnitCraftArt is the work of Shira Adriance, a knitter and designer. I also have another shop on Etsy, Papou, where I sell children's apparel, quilts, and toys.

I’ve been knitting for 13 years, since my first solo train journey at age 15 when I discovered that nothing whiles away the hours quite like two sticks and a ball of string. I also sew, quilt, embroider, cook and bake - pretty much anything that involves using my two hands.

During college I worked for three years as an assistant in a Theater Costume shop, then did a Masters in Regional Planning and tried to engage in more serious work. In early 2008, I went back to the design world when I realized that, more than anything, you need to love what you do.
