Museum worker with a creative heart

As a child i grew up surrounded by a creative community, both my parents were crafters and sold their wares at craft shows and centres. Being sourrounded by this environment enabled me to play with different media, i still like to play and experiment know that i am a grown-up, well outside maybe not sure about my inner being. The main media that i play with is textiles and fibres, i have a real fascination with colours, texture and layers which must come from my inner archaeologist as i have a degree in archaeology.

I make all my own fabrics by ripping fraying and distressing material and old clothes, sowing them together and then mixing in silk, wool and other fibres and threads. Working in this way produces an individual and unique piece of art work, it also provides me with a way of playing and developing my art.
