I'm a Christian wife, a mommy, and painter. I love being outside, animals, reading, thriller movies and time by myself.

In my "spare" time I paint murals, furniture and decor for children. In the old days, before kids, I did a lot of watercolour, which I want to get back to.

With all of this going on, it means my own children have an uninspiring room, bare walls and crappy unpainted furniture (though I pulled off a sky mural on the ceiling this spring...which my son was scared of and refused to sleep under the first night).

My hubby is a professional cabinet maker, we have 2 young children, 1 goldfish and 3 orange cats. I no longer work outside the home, so we no longer have cable tv, dinners out, 2 week canoe trips, gas in the car, shoes...but it's all worth it. I want to be home as much as possible for these kids.

I'm mainly self-taught as an artist, with a few courses thrown in. I've been working with acrylic and watercolour for over 25 years. I would have to say my favorite thing to paint and draw is animals and still life. I love studying the effects of sunlight on something simple, like an apple core on a sunny windowsill.

We've been shown endless beauty in the little things of life. These blessings, unlike so many other false promises in the world, never fail us. We just have to train ourselves to pay attention to them, and give them more credit.

The furniture in this shop was built by my husband, with both of us contributing to the design. We can create exactly what you want - right down to the size of clock you'd like, your colours, or how many drawers you need in a dresser.
