Bio

Artist Melissa Schooley was born and raised just north of Simcoe, Ontario. In 2002 she received her Bachelor’s Degree of Fine Arts, Visual Arts from Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design in Vancouver, British Columbia. Upon completion of her degree, she returned to Ontario to set up her studio.

Melissa’s work has been in juried exhibitions in Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, Edmonton and Waterloo.

From 2003 to 2005, Melissa was the studio manager and an instructor for the Norfolk Potter’s Guild in Simcoe. In the summer of 2005, she did an apprenticeship in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia with internationally acclaimed artist Joan Bruneau of Nova Terra Cotta Pottery.

She is currently a full-time studio potter and loving every second of it!!!
