Bio

China has produced much of the world’s greatest art. Yet, many of China's ancient crafts are expected to disappear within the next 10 years as the nation modernizes and its elder artisans pass on.

We are two artists working together to research, document and video China’s living artisans. We have filmed and interviewed dozens of Chinese traditional artists in their homes and workshops: kitemakers, painters, woodcut artists and calligraphers.

Our documentary film, "Wind Above, Earth Below", will feature China's ancient kite and the wonderful artists who make them.

We offer you our photos of China and Japan, seen from off the tourist path.

Every purchase will be used to produce "Wind Above, Earth Below", and will help us to pay for translation, editing and other costs.

Print details

We prefer archival matte paper for most of our prints, as the result is a soft, warm effect. However, some images do work better on gloss paper.

Many of our images can be printed at other sizes. We do our best to accomodate special requests, so please write us for details.


Payments and Shipping

We only accept PayPal at this time. Once payment is received, most orders will ship within 3 days by USPS. Some of our prints may require up to 10 days. We will let you know if that is the case.

We are required to collect sales tax from buyers in New York State.

Prints are carefully packed in an acid-free clear photo sleeve with backing board and sent in protective packaging. All photos are unmounted, unmatted and unframed.

Please note: We include packaging materials in our shipping costs. This adds just a few dollars to shipping, but it is important to us that you receive your photo in perfect condition.

International Customers:

Wingspan Design doesn’t collect any fees or tariffs when sending packages overseas. Buyers are responsible for any taxes, fees, tariffs, duties, etc. that may be levied by your country's tax regulations. These fees are NOT included in the purchase price or shipping costs.

Please refer to your local customs agency. We're sorry, Wingspan Design cannot accept returns due to customs fees.
