Bio

Hello. My name is Charmagne Coe. I am an artist from Northern Arizona. I received a Fine Art degree at Northern Arizona University. I was initially drawn to illustration with india ink, and later turned my direction to pursue a painted quality that could still coexist with simple, free and abstract contour lines. Discovering the luminescence of pastel, I began experimenting. I now often work in the mediums of watercolor, combined with pastel and india ink. In 2007,
I began to blog my experimentation and works in progress at shemakescozyhats.vox.com/ and still do. In 2008, VOX chose one of my pieces as the feature for their home page. From there, an online art and culture magazine, Juxtapoz, published my work as did Drawn!, another well-known illustration and cartooning blog. In August 2008, I had a debut show at Holland Studio in Flagstaff, AZ. I continue to have a very enthusiastic online following. I draws inspiration from abstract expressionism, surrealism, the Fauvists and the cosmos. I am interested in creating art which reflects human relationships, the force of nature and the search for a spirituality everlasting in love.
