Hello there! I'm Blackberry, and this is my little shop of crafts for bags, jewellery, cards and all kinds of handmade treasures.
All items are handmade by me in my smoke and pet free studio. I use a vintage Singer Starlet sewing machine that belonged to my Great-Grandmother, Jeanette, who was a home economics teacher in the north of England in the fifties and sixties.
I first started sewing on my mum’s machine, for textiles class in Design & Technology. The first thing that I can distinctly remember making was a round bag made from furry cow print fabric using a pattern out of ‘Prima’. Mum helped me with the curved bottom, but the rest was my work and I was so proud. I think I still have that bag somewhere.
These days I use ribbon, buttons and beautiful fabric to make bags for all occasions; drawstring for shoes and laundry, carry-all handbags for days when there's too much to do, pretty evening bags for those things that yes, you really DO need to take with you.
For my knitting I'm inspired by beautiful yarns, in exciting colours; I particularly like Debbie Bliss Rialto Aran, and Rowan's Classic Cashsoft Aran.
I love silver charms, ribbon, antiqued chains and those little items of 'junk' you find in the back of a drawer.
Take a look at my blog to see my inspirations and what I'm working on at the moment: blackberrycrafts.blogspot.com
Bright Blessings, and have a lovely day
