I started planning my own meals several years ago when a friend of mine in Overeaters Anonymous told me how much meal planning was helping her. I had struggled for years with not knowing how much food to buy for two week or a month or how much to spend on that food. And with that horrible moment when my blood sugar tanks, but I have nothing on hand to eat, and everything in the house either takes too long to make or is unappealing, so my blood sugar just sinks to the point where I can't even make a decision!
All of which, of course, leads to a lot of time and money wasted. When I started planning my meals in advance, I discovered that buying just what I was going to eat saved me a ton of money! And thinking about the food ahead of time meant I could try more interesting things - and planning out when to cook each meal meant never suffering with no food made at mealtime.
I wanted to share these gifts with others. I started writing a book about meal planning (coming soon!), and realized that there were probably a LOT of people who would love to reap the benefits of meal planning but didn't have the time or energy to do it themselves every week. Not to mention all the people who hate grocery shopping!
So I started PeaceMeals, my very own one-person business where I plan a week's worth of meals and you reap the benefits. There are vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free meal plans as well as omnivorous ones. I even make grocery boxes, which I fill with the (mostly organic) groceries you need for the week's meal plan.
The name PeaceMeals comes from both the peace that you can experience by having healthy and exciting meals planned for you, and from my commitment to donate part of the profits to organizations (like PeaceAction, Heifer, and UNICEF) that work toward peace.
