My jewelry craze began in 7th-grade metal shop. I was just about the only girl in shop class so I was very excited when it came time to make something feminine - a ring. I wanted ideas for my ring so I checked out a book from the school library about making jewelry. I still remember the pictures in that little jewelry book. I was mesmerized. I studied each and every page and read it from cover to cover several times over. I was intrigued that beautiful jewelry pieces came from such ugly metal beginnings. (the ring came out ok - big and clunky - not quite as good as my prized copper Duran Duran plaque - but it was a start).

I find designing and making jewelry meditative. It is my guilty pleasure and extremely rewarding. I am always surprised and thrilled when a customer loves a piece of my jewelry just as much as I do. That’s why I am so proud to launch Lisa Jayne Jewelry AKA OcCraftyGurl.

I do believe we all can use a little girly glitz in our everyday life. Jewelry should not be just for those special occasions. Making that extra effort every day to wear a special piece of jewelry is inspiring and fun!
