AcrossTheGrain's Profile

Bio

As a native Michigander, I have been a keen observer of the beauty and usefulness of the hardwoods surrounding me since childhood. My introduction to woodworking began in 4-H and has become a true passion over the past 50 years. As I work with the endless varieties of wood, I delight in creating pieces that are not only functional, but stand alone as works of art. My work ranges from free form bowls and platters to refined jewelry boxes and furniture. All the hardwoods I use come from salvaged or composted trees found in the Southwest Michigan area.
