Bio

Born and raised Aimee Elizabeth Dale Evans Hickman in the American West, I spent my childhood looking for rusted metal and broken glass on my parents' 140 year old ranch. As an adult I've translated this love of found, hardy things into my work with stained glass. More recently I have begun to combine my stained glass work with my growing obsession with turn-of-the-century magic lantern slides. My work and technique revolve around an organic, hand-made aesthetic which seeks to honor the uniqueness of each piece of glass and the work done more than a century ago by other hands.

Now the wife of an English Professor, I am an East Coast urban girl who finds myself the happy new resident of nifty, gritty Baltimore City. I try hard to carve out time to work on these pieces between raising our two vibrant boys and newborn daughter, loving their dad, and renovating our 1895 Victorian row house.
