Bio

the photographer:
Photography has been a passion of mine for almost as long as I can remember. It feels as if I came out of the womb with a camera; in actuality I started with a film camera at age 8. I photographed everything, but mostly I photographed my family. My brothers and sisters (all 5 of them!), my parents, grandparents, great-grandparents. They were what was (and still is) available to me, every day.

I was homeschooled all the way from third grade up until college, which gave me the flexibility to spend hours exploring the world around me with a camera. I taught myself the majority of my technical skills, from books, manuals and experience. The rest of my knowledge comes from the photography classes I've taken so far in college, where I have learned how to use a darkroom and how to create the highest quality digital images.

My ambition is to create portraits of people, especially children, that portray the beauty and passion we see in them everyday.

the name:
Annissa is pronounced uh-nee-suh, although I answer to anything from "Ann" to "Lisa"!

the girl:
Outside of photography, I love to travel and appreciate all different types of art. I write a little, but am more of a reader. My favorite book is Through Painted Deserts by Don Miller and my favorite band is Switchfoot.
