Bio

Helloooo!! My name is Stacey, and ever since I can remember I have always been into arts & crafts, photography and drawn to anything creative. I always seem to want to "make things".

I grew up in NYC in The Bronx, then lived in “the city” (aka Manhattan) after graduating college. I absolutely LOVED it!! I felt most at home and most like myself when I lived there - hence the name “Total City Girl”. I then lived in Orlando for a while (the hubs job) and now happy to say back in NY – FOR GOOD!!! 15 minutes from the city. Not quite the same but hopefully one day I’ll be smack in the middle again.

Some of the latest obsessions in my life include decorative paper, photography, my hair (just can’t figure out what to do with it!) cake decorating, and living in NY. Out of these obsessions grew some of the items you’ll see today in my ETSY Shop.

I love taking photos of my girls. A few years ago, I needed a gift for my husband’s b’day and decided to make him a book of our girls. But instead of buying a photo album, I wanted to create my own book. I made it square and accordion style. It was a hit!! The thing I love about these books is the covers can be just as creative as the inside pages. Also, since the page size is 6X6, there’s more emphasis on the photo. You can do as little or as much enhancing as you’d like, but the photo is still the main attraction.

My curly hair has always been an issue for me. When I was growing up, all my sister and I ever wanted was to have straight hair. We drove our mom crazy! So, when I had my own daughters, it was payback time. They have curly hair too! Difference is, theirs is beautiful – both in different ways. I started making clips for them when they were really little and have since added headbands and ponytail holders.

For years, I had a gift basket business where not only the products INSIDE the basket had to be great, but the whole package itself had to be amazing. Although I'm not doing baskets anymore, I still think packaging is very important and try to incorporate that philosophy into my creations today.
