Welcome to urbanBasement! You know those days when you forge through your basement (or attic, or cupboard under the stairs) and you end up finding some great random treasures? That's what urbanBasement is; random treasures - found online.

My photography attempts to portray the simple beauty in the ordinary. It's important to slow down to admire the often forgotten things in life.

My illustrations portray a fun child-like nostalgia and make-belief.

I'm Kate.
I'm 24 and happily married.

I spend a lot of time looking at the ordinary things in life to see their beauty. If I could, I would attach my camera to my face; although, I would probably look a little silly. But on a more serious note, I really do strive to capture and portray the beauty of creation in my work, whether that be man-made or God-made. I'm inspired by colour, light, form and the urban setting.

I'm always trying new things which may pop up at some point in the shop. I have quite an eclectic taste and am inspired by different art styles and methods. I am a huge fan of pen&ink, acrylic paint, watercolour, and patterned paper.
