Bio

I enjoy the vertical process of coil vessel building. Each piece is built one clay coil at a time. I like creating to explain what can't be said with words. I enjoy the time spent creating with my hands, while knowing that the piece I've created captures a specific moment in time. Each piece is a reflection of thoughts and experiences in life... no matter what they reveal. All of my work is handbuilt, glazed, and kiln fired.
I ship all items padded and secure for arrival. Shipping prices include insurance.
I am a 36 year old artist and musician. I had my first experience working with clay in the 80's while in high school. After a brief stint in college, I became a full time musician. I spent many years singing, creating, performing, and working various jobs. In 2002, I moved myself and my family to The Netherlands, to perform music and immerse myself in Dutch culture. While there, I managed to find some clay and made some truly inspiring pieces. I returned to Georgia in 2003, returned to college, and began fusing the ideas of vessel building by hand with face jugs and facial expressions. Each piece contains Georgia Clay( Lizella), helping give a rich earthy tone to each creation. These pieces are truly unique and distinct. I like to confront the viewer with deep personal thought and reflection. Invoking memories of those one second expressions that stay in our minds forever...whatever the event (good or bad).. is my goal for expression.
