Island Provisions is a company of simplicity: we make products of a simple design in order to hold your stuff in a simple manner. If you like things simple, you'll love Island Provisions.

Simple and practical design is the corner stone of our company. We always try to purchase our raw materials locally and we have an emphasis on organic and reclaimed materials (something old made into something new). Although not 100% of our materials are local, reclaimed and organic, we are steadily working towards this goal. Why?? As you might have guessed, the answer is simple: purchasing local, reclaimed and organic materials is better for our local communities and our world. Buying reclaimed garments and making something new out of them takes priority over all other choices for materials. When we use reclaimed materials we try to use every part of garment, even the buttons and zippers. We believe there are plenty of used materials in the world waiting to be made into something useful and that buying new materials is not always necessary. We're aware that local, organic and reclaimed materials are important to our customers and we want you to know as much information about our products as possible. We'll supply you with a detailed description of exactly what each item is made out of and if you would like to know more, please let us know. Since our products are handmade, all of our products are unique and contain their own intricacies and differences in materials.

Oh and by the way, most of our products have the added bonus of being vegan. Products that might not meet vegan standards usually contain wool yarn. Occasionally we acquire wool yarn from friends, family or thrift shops. We consider this yarn from used sources or from smaller, more local sources to be a fair trade off. In order to help you make the best choice for your lifestyle we will always specify if a product is not vegan and we'll let you know where these non vegan items came from.

All products are designed, cut and sewn by Island Provision's delightfully small staff composed of yours truly and my unwavering husband. We want people to enjoy the practical beauty of items that are simple, unique, handmade and affordable.

Basically Island Provisions comes down to one concept: we hold your stuff, it's that simple.

There is now one more reason to shop Island Provisions. We are pleased to officially announce our commitment to donate at least 5% of profits to charity. Glen Helen Outdoor Education Center will now receive at least 5% of each purchase here at Island Provisions. Glen Helen is a 1000 acre nature preserve located in Yellow Springs Ohio and is the home of an outdoor education center. This education center connects thousands of children each year to nature by offering a wide range of experiential learning opportunities right in the nature preserve! Experienced naturalists lead small trail groups on hikes through the preserve exposing children to forest ecology, local geology, local history, and much much more. The goal of the Glen Helen Outdoor Education Center is to plant the seeds of a lifelong interest in our environment and a lasting concern for its well-being. We will always hold a special place in our hearts (and our pocket book!) for Glen Helen. We are proud to officially help support this important non profit organization.
