Bio

Who am i: since i was a little girl i can't rememeber not to be hand making things all the time. From my own toys to toys for my dolls, it all had to be hand made by me. I wanted to learn all the grown up techniques, like sewing and embroiderie and also sawing and painting. This i wanted to master earlier than was good for me. I had a great impatience and curiousity to know about all of the ways you could hand make stuff with. So i started out as self taught and when i was old enough i went to the royal art academie, in the netherlands. There i got my degree in in fashion design and illustration.

After that i started to work as a freelance surface designer. With the birth of my son 2 years ago, i stopped working freelance. Recently i started my own buisinis. With one important goal, to build an independant base, enabling me to sell my own work. What i like more about this is that it gives me all the creative contol over what I make.


At 35 years i am still very much addicted to designing and making stuff. I create all kinds of things, from paintings, to home decoration, to clothing. But also i create supplies for other designers, like the hand printed fabrics and ribbons of mine. I like to work with materials like fabric, wood, ink and paint. I especially like working on art and decoration projects that can be enjoyed by children. But as it hopefully is apriciated by small people, i also hope big people will feel drawn to my work.
