EbbaHandmade's Profile

Bio

I find myself torn between a love for city life, and a love for nature and wide open spaces; aspirations toward a great career in the art museum world, and a longing to feather my nest and nurture my family; I get a rush from engaging in intellectual discourse, and I take pleasure in the small tasks of caring for my home; I could just as easily curl up with a childrens’ book as with the latest Artforum or New Yorker—always accompanied by a good cup of tea; I enjoy the clean lines, bold colors, and ingenuity of modern design, but I tend to get swept up in the beauty of natural fibers, vintage prints and girly details.

I have been making stuff since I can remember, and thanks to many wonderful women in my life (Grandma Jean, Aunt Ann, Aunt Laurie, Miss McDowell, Mrs. Leaman, Mrs. Unger, and of course, Mama) I learned a lot about how to make stuff well. I have many dear friends to thank for holding me creatively accountable (Beth, Sara, Courtney), for helping me set up the store (Sylwinn, Susannah) and for supporting this crazy venture of mine (namely Eric).
