Bio

We are a mother and daughter team of spinners & dyers who love colour and creating things together.
We began to dye fibre for our own use (and still do) but then we fell in love with the dyeing process. We now produce far more fiber than we can spin ourselves and so decided to start this etsy shop. We both keep chickens in our gardens and overlook a henhouse and 4 of our hens when we dye our fibres, so we decided on the name Hen House Fibers.
You may notice that we use 2 different spellings of the word "Fibre", that is because we are from England, where it is spelled "Fibre".
We like to dye wool, silk & alpaca, or whatever fibers are to hand.
