Bio

As a young child growing up with parents who did not support or encourage creativity or artistic ability was actually a good thing. My dad was a carpenter and my mom dabbled in craftmaking. But, they always relied on a pattern and everything they made had to have a functional purpose. There is nothing wrong with this, but imagine my delight when I discovered in high school that I could design my own clothes without a pattern and that this creation could be fiberart. This was a turning point for me. My teenage rebellion took the form of a determination to find an outlet for the creativity I knew was buried deep inside. As a navy wife for the whole of my adult life, I have had many different jobs, 4 college degrees, and two children. But, always there was a nagging sensation to get back to the arts. My background includes drawing, painting, fashion design, fiber arts (quilting and knitting), interior design, jewelry design, flameworked and fused glass, woodworking, stoneware and precious metal clay. Now that I am retired from the corporate world, I have the luxury of creating to my heart's content. It is what keeps my brain engaged and my soul fed. It is heaven on earth! And, I am delighted to share the journey with you.
