Bio

I am a Minneapolis-based fabric artist with a crush on recycled neckties, buttons and buckles.

Tart Design is my place to sell the bags and bracelets I create with these materials that inspire me so much. All items are handmade from start to finish and are made from recycled materials. Please bear in mind that fabric may have very minor snags or stains from its previous life as a necktie.

I learned how to sew from my Mom - she gave me her sewing machine when she bought a new one and then taught me how to use it! The necktie thing, however, came from me. A good soundtrack keeps me sewing - lots of 80's new wave, Bob Dylan, Cold War Kids, Menomena and The National. If not music, I'm probably listening to This American Life while I'm working.

In my non-fabric life, I work in fundraising and communications for a nonprofit in Minneapolis.

I believe in beauty, laughter and honesty and try to always be a good listener. I love to polka, I cut my own hair and usually stay up too late.
