GuinnessTheGreyt's Profile

Bio

When did you become an artist?
2 years ago... however if you ask my mother she will tell you that it all began 30 years ago when I made Barbie mansions out of a shoebox, toilet paper rolls, a lil duct tape, and a whole lot of imagination.

How do you see yourself as an artist?
I see myself more as the bastard child of Martha Stewart and MacGyver then I do a Rembrandt or Monet.

What inspires you?
My greyhounds of course. When I first got a greyhound years ago (Guinness) I would look for artwork that reflected him. It seemed at the time that I mainly only found regal and posed greyhound art. My boy is anything but regal and posed. He's silly and spontaneous... He farts worse then a sailor and has more attitude then Elton John.

Do you do commissions?
90% of what I paint are commissions. And only half of those are greyhound portraits. I love commissions! Nothing is more gratifying to me then to have someone absolutely love the work I've done for them.

They say no one can have just one greyhound! Is this true and how many do you have?
Someone told me once they are like potato chips and you can't have just one! And it's true! I have 4 crazy lazy hounds... Guinness The Greyt (8), Brooklyn the Brat (8), Memphis the Mellow (9), and Spirit the Sassy Senior (11). I can't imagine my life without them in it.
