MakeDoMail's Profile

Bio

Hi there and thanks for visiting the Make-Do Mercantile. My name is Jenna and I consider myself a 27 year old with a depression-era heart.

Here in hot and muggy (or wind-blown and snowy) central Illinois, I learned a lot of things growing up on the farm. I learned to make gooseberry pie, trim mule's hooves, rebuild a rototiller motor and mend torn trousers. All of these things can be summed up by what is now the driving force in my life, the Make-Do attitude. My grandmother (from Indiana) once wrote me a postcard with only these words on the back:

"Use it up, Wear it out,
Make it do or do without"

And I would like to pass these words of wisdom on to you! Without scrimping on quality or workmanship, I use a lot of the materials salvaged from tag-sale finds, found on clearance and stashed away in my craft studio. I use my creativity and solid background in craft skills to Make-Do with what I have to create wonderful items! Occasionally I list a few of those tag-sale finds in their entirety for someone else to enjoy as-is or turn into new projects.
