Bio

My shop name is a combination my husband's and my name, Karen & Russ. I am the creator but Russ gives me inspiration and has inspired a few designs.

I made my first piece of jewelry when I was in the 6th grade, many moons ago. It was many, many sheets of colored construction paper glued in layers and then shaped with a craft knife and file. Then it was glued (regular glue, hot-melt glue was unheard of back then) on a ring blank, and the rest is history.

I got back into jewelry making when my son started school in 1986 and did pretty good for about 2 years. Then I went back to work and didn't have time to do any of my many crafts.

Just recently I decided to put my ideas to work and started making jewelry again.


My full-time job is Office Manager for a construction company in the western burbs of Chicago. I recently earned my Associates Degree in Microcomputers for Business, and I am also Certified by Microsoft for Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Creating jewelry and other beaded items is relaxation for me. My dream is to do it full-time but I don't see that happening in the near future, unless of course we win the lottery.

I hope you like my items, they are one of a kind, but I could make them in different colors or sizes if requested.
