Bio

I have loved abstract art since I was a child. The possibility of multiple interpretations and emotions that can be seen in each painting is incredible. I have been painting for 8 years and common themes in my work include abstract land, sea, and cityscapes. I am drawn to the layering of color and texture that develops as each painting evolves. I am not always certain of the outcome of each painting when I begin. I find that if I let go and just follow instinct I usually love the resulting piece.

I am also very fond of the rich dimensions that Gold Leaf brings to a piece and utilize it extensively in my work. I love the visual effect of layering Gold Leaf and acrylic paint. The texture, gloss, and of course the shimmering of the Gold Leaf is visually intoxicating. My favorite use if it is to group smaller Gold Leaf paintings together. I find that each painting has a unique expression but collectively the grouping reveals a luminous quality that is very moving
